Are you on the fence about having a heated floor installed with your new bathroom renovation? It’s not for everyone. I have estimated many bathroom renovations over the years and I have had many different conversations with prospective clients about the pros and cons of having heat installed under their new tiled floor.
Many people know instantly that they don’t want a heated floor or don’t need a heated floor and I have no argument with them. As I said, it’s not for everyone! Some people are curious but are worried about the additional cost when their budget is tight already but in reality, the material and labour cost involved is not that much on top of the cost of the bathroom renovation. Bathroom floors are, in general, not normally that large. Maybe between 48 square feet (6ft x 8 ft) and 100 square feet (so 10ft x 10ft) although I have done much larger! We are talking a few hundred dollars not thousands but dependent on the size of the space to be heated!
The Schluter heated floor systems that we install are thermostat controlled and programmed. You would be surprised how little they cost to run and they only need to be heated for the times that you will be using the room with bare feet! The extra comfort a heated floor gives actually makes your new bathroom feel like a place where you want to spend more time!
Now my clients that did decide to go with the heated floor option are all completely happy that they did bar none! (And that includes me!) One client said “Once you have that “Warm Floor Heaven” you can’t live without it!” We offer it as an option of course and are happy to add it as an extra and leave you to decide.
Hope that helps! 🛁
